Artist Led Spaces in Leeds

  • 20 Lyddon Terrace SR1 (map)

I am delighted to invite you to participate in the FAHACS student-led conference, an event designed to illuminate the vibrant artist-led scene in Leeds. This conference aims to provide valuable insights for students at all stages of their academic journey within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities, and Cultures, whether you are embarking on your first year, advancing through your degree, nearing graduation, or pursuing our MA programmes. Our gathering serves as a unique platform to explore the dynamics of Leeds' artist-led scene, revealing its composition, driving forces, operational mechanisms, and the opportunities it presents to local artists and curators.

The conference will feature five succinct presentations, meticulously researched and delivered by our Level 3 Fine Art students. These presentations promise to offer a comprehensive overview of the artistic opportunities available within the city, fostering a deeper understanding of the local art community and its contributions to the cultural landscape of Leeds. Beyond the presentations, this event offers a fantastic opportunity for networking, allowing FAHACS students from various levels to connect and engage over complimentary refreshments. This conference not only aims to enrich your academic and professional pursuits but also to strengthen the bonds within our student community by sharing knowledge and experiences related to the flourishing artist-led scene in Leeds. Join us to discover the potential pathways for your artistic and curatorial endeavors within this dynamic urban setting.
